More Than Just Coffee
Every great adventure has a beginning. Ours started in the woods.
Long before there was Y'Knot Coffee Co., there was Camp Y'Knot.
Just beyond my childhood backyard was a patch of woods that became something special—a camping area built by Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Camp Y'Knot gave Scouts a place to get outside and put what they were learning into practice. It was a place to work on badge and rank requirements for advancement, develop camping and outdoor skills, and learn the value of working together to get things done.
It wasn't a fancy campground. It didn't need to be.
It was a place where Scouts could learn by doing, help one another, and create memories along the way.
And, like any good camp, it needed a name.
That's where Y'Knot came from.
The Sign That Started It All
Every camp needs a sign.
For Camp Y'Knot, we made one ourselves.
We gathered twigs from the woods and used them to form the letters on a piece of wood, then nailed the finished sign to a tree.
There was just one little detail that made it unmistakably Camp Y'Knot:
The Y was backwards.
It wasn't a branding decision. There was no logo, marketing plan, or business behind it. It was simply Scouts building something for their camp, just like we had built the camp itself.
But that backwards Y stayed with me.
Years later, when the idea for Y'Knot Coffee Co. began to take shape, I remembered that sign—and the place behind it.
The name had already been waiting for me.
From Camp Y'Knot to Y'Knot Coffee Co.
Camp Y'Knot may have started in the woods, but the memories made there stayed with me long after I left them behind.
Years later, the idea for Y'Knot Coffee Co. began to take shape. As I thought about what I wanted this business to be, I kept coming back to that old camp, that handmade sign, and the name we had given it all those years ago.
Y'Knot wasn't just a name. It was a piece of my story.
So I brought it back.
What started as a place built by Scouts, for Scouts became the inspiration for a coffee company built around many of those same ideas: adventure, getting outside, trying something new, and enjoying the moments along the way.
The camp may be part of the past, but Y'Knot is the next adventure.
And this time, we're bringing coffee along for the journey.

At Y'Knot Coffee Co., we believe great coffee should be fresh, flavorful, and worth looking forward to.
That's why our coffee is roasted in small batches and roasted to order. Rather than sitting on a shelf for months, your coffee is roasted shortly before it makes its way to you.
Coffee is at the heart of what we do, with a small selection of tea alongside it for those who prefer a different kind of cup.
We offer a variety of coffees, from familiar favorites to bold roasts and unique flavors, because there's no single right way to enjoy coffee. Maybe your perfect morning starts with a smooth cup at the kitchen table. Maybe it's a mug beside the campfire. Maybe it's the first cup that gets you moving before the rest of the world wakes up.
